They say those who practice yoga is a philosophy, a science and an art. The truth is that it can serve as therapy to beautify the body and has the force, energy and firmness.

Known as a series of yoga postures, breathing exercises and body that help to meditate, improve elasticity, eliminate stress. However, not everyone knows that the pursuit of this ancient art is still more profound because it is intended that the human being to reach communion with himself.

The first paper on the subject of which we know is the yoga-sutra (rules of yoga), written between IV and V century AD, even when their origins date back to earlier dates. Since then, it was estimated that thanks to yoga (which means “conjunction” in Hindi) is achieved a mystical relationship between the practitioner (yogi) and the Universe, once the human mind is completely free.

Yogis claim that there are cells in the body with physical functions, psychological, emotional, intellectual or spiritual, and each has its own life. The practice of yoga promotes consciously every cell absorbs a pool of blood and vital energy, satisfying the soul. As this is done through body movements, yoga is also known as dynamic meditation.

Among people who practice this discipline there are beneficial effects, such as decreased blood pressure and heart rate in patients with hypertension, low cholesterol levels, regulate hormone production and menstrual flow, reduced pain and joint dysfunction and wellbeing.

To make matters worse, breathing is restored, and thus there is a possible relaxation that meditation and self-awareness, much needed for people exposed to the action of the mass media and bustle of everyday life. All this leads to the presentation of a radical change in emotional attitude towards life and the role that each individual in society.

Finally, consider you that yoga is an ideal discipline for older people, because through it recovers from loss of elasticity in muscles and joints, well that takes advantage of moments of free time to reflect intimately on one’s actions and those of others.
