Primary Open Angle Glaucoma

If there is any suspicion of primary open-angle glaucoma, the patient normally consult an eye specialist (ophthalmologist). This doctor examined the patient’s eyes to accurately measure the pressure inside the eye and examine the nerve at the back of the eye for damage. This damage is described as “cupping” of the optic nerve head (or optic disc). It will also undertake a review of computerized visual field. It may take additional tests and examinations to ensure that there are other reasons for glaucoma.Acute angle-closure glaucoma

This condition is usually diagnosed immediately because of pain, redness and reduced vision. The pupil is dilated and the pressure inside the eye is very high. The cornea (the clear window on the front of the eye) is often inflamed, causing halos around lights and blurred vision.

In people with suspected glaucoma performing a complete eye examination to ensure that no other eye disease.
