Your doctor will examine you and pay special attention to neurological examination. Look for symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, especially the classic Parkinson’s disease tremor, slow movement, rigidity and gait problems.
There is no procedure for the diagnosis or specific laboratory tests for diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease. For this reason, doctors diagnose Parkinson’s disease based on symptoms and results of physical and neurological examinations. If a patient’s symptoms improve after the patient is medicated Parkinson’s disease, the diagnosis is probably correct.
Duration
Parkinson’s disease is a condition long-term (chronic) and often progressive. In most patients, 70 to 80% of brain cells in the substantia nigra and are lost when symptoms first appear.
Prevention
Because doctors do not know the exact cause of Parkinson’s disease, there is no way to prevent it.
When To Call a Professional
Call your doctor if you develop any symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, especially if you notice a tremor or persistent tension anywhere in the body, or if you have trouble walking or rising from a chair. You should also call your doctor if any of the symptoms of depression.
Forecast
Although there is no cure for Parkinson’s disease, a well-designed treatment plan allows many patients to have an active life.
