RECOMMENDED FOODS
- Milk and dairy products: milk and yogurt, cottage cheese Burgos and low-fat, light cheeses, white cheese slices or low-fat bar.
- Meat, fish, eggs and dairy products: low fat meat and poultry (chicken and turkey without skin, lean beef, loin of pork, sirloin, horse, partridge, quail …), lean ham (with 3% to 5% fat, see label), fish (blue more often than white), egg.
- Cereals, potatoes and vegetables: All, except those specified in other sections.
- Vegetables: All.
- Fruits: All food except as explained in “limited.”
- Beverages: Mineral water with or without gas, defatted broth, teas and juices.
- Fats: Olive oil and seeds (sunflower, corn, soybeans).
- Other products: sauce made with vegetables and a little oil (preferably olive oil), mayonnaise made with skim milk.FOODS ALLOWED (and occasional moderate consumption)
- Milk and dairy products: semi-skimmed milk, natural yogurt or whole fruit, curd, petit suisse, soft cheeses and some cured (there are low-fat cheeses).
- Meat and meat products: semi-fat meats (beef, pork, chicken, leg of lamb), special low-fat deli turkey or chicken, ham (no bacon), seafood (except those listed in the section on limited food) .
- Cereals, potatoes and vegetables: Maria crackers, homemade pastries made with skim milk and olive oil.
- Vegetables: Without exception.
- Fruit: Fruit in syrup, candied and crystallized.
- Beverages: Alcoholic beverages of low alcohol (beer, cider, table wine), as usual.
- Fats: Butter, 100% vegetable margarine (choose one with the lowest percentage of trans fat listed on the label).
- Other products: Sauces and commercial soups, nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, peanuts) or dried fruit (plums and raisins …).
FOODS LIMITED (Due to its high cholesterol content and / or saturated fat)
- Milk and dairy: whole milk or condensed yoghurt enriched with cream, cheese and melted fat (slice, portion) or spreads, cream or mounted.
- Meat, fish, eggs and their derivatives, fatty pork and beef, duck, smoked or cured meats, organ meats (liver, brain, kidneys), charcuterie (sausages, salami, ham, foie gras, pate), pickled fish, salted, smoked, pickled and seafood (squid and shrimp).
- Cereals, potatoes and vegetables: conventional bakery, pastry and confectionery, egg, bacon from heaven, crisps and other snacks (hooks, worms, etc.).
- Vegetables: Vegetables prepared with butter, cream, cheese and other sauces too fat.
- Fruit: fresh or dried coconut.
- Beverages: strong alcoholic beverages (liquor, spirits).
Fats: Margarine mixed, butter, lard and tallow, coconut and palm oils, cocoa butter and products containing it (chocolate, chocolate creams, pralines type, soluble cocoa powder).
- Other products: food ingredients include among their “vegetable oil” without specifying its source, and this could be coconut or palm oil rich in saturated fat. Egg products (mayonnaise, pastries, biscuits, cakes, pies, breaded).
